Judith Richman founded the Firm in 1985. For the past thirty years, she has specialized in representing individuals and corporate clients.

Ms. Richman has established a well-deserved reputation in the legal community for exercising sound judgment and devising creative solutions to her clients' problems. She has earned prominence as a highly skilled litigator who is aggressive in protecting her clients' interests.

Ms. Richman is accomplished and experienced in the full range of complex matrimonial matters, including litigating and negotiating the equitable distribution of marital assets, support and custody matters, pre-nuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements.

She has successfully tried numerous cases and has the distinction of being one of the few attorneys in the State of New York to have had her clients awarded 100% of the marital assets after trial. Ms. Richman successfully defended these verdicts through appellate courts to the Court of Appeals, New York State's highest court.

In addition to her matrimonial work, Ms. Richman is a successful commercial litigator. She regularly represents and provides counsel to high worth individuals and corporate clients. Ms. Richman also represents one of the country's largest magazine distributors in their corporate and commercial matters.

Ms. Richman attended New York University and was admitted to the Bar in 1977 after clerking at the firms of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and Martin Clearwater & Bell. She has the distinction of being the last person to have been admitted to practice law in the State of New York under "Articles of Clerkship." Beginning her practice in the field of commercial litigation, Ms. Richman thereafter was the head of the matrimonial department at Shaw, Goldman, LiCitra, Levin & Weinberg, before joining the predecessor firm of Sonnenfeld & Richman LLP in 1982.
